Privacy Policy

Mobile Solar Consulting, LLC ("we," "us," "our") operates mobilesolarconsulting.com. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it.
We have written it to describe what our website actually does, rather than to cover every practice we might theoretically adopt. If our practices change materially, we will update this page and change the date above.
Who this site is for
This website and our products and services are intended for customers in the United States. We ship only within the United States and do not direct our services to the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other regions outside the US. Our servers and business operations are located in the United States, and any information you provide is stored and processed there.
Information you give us
You choose whether to give us information. If you place an order or request a quote, we collect what we need to fulfill it: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, and the details of what you ordered. If you create an account, your password is stored only in hashed form. If you contact us, we keep the correspondence.
Payment card details never reach our servers. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a confirmation, the last four digits, and the card brand — never the full card number.
Information collected automatically
Our own analytics
We run our own first-party analytics system. We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, the Meta/Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party analytics or advertising tracker.
When you browse the site we record:
- Pages viewed, products viewed, items added to or removed from your cart, checkout started, and orders completed
- How you arrived — the referring website and any campaign parameters in the link you followed
- Your browser, operating system, device type, and browser user-agent string
- An approximate country, derived from your connection
IP addresses. We do not store your IP address. It is combined with a secret value and converted into an irreversible cryptographic hash (SHA-256) at the moment of collection, and the address itself is discarded. The hash lets us recognize repeat traffic and filter out automated bots without retaining the address.
Linking to your account. While you browse without signing in, this activity is tied only to a random identifier. If you later sign in or complete a purchase, that identifier may be associated with your account, which means we can see the browsing that led to your order.
How we use it. Internal business purposes only: understanding which products people are interested in, finding broken or underperforming pages, planning inventory, and measuring sales. We do not use it to target advertising to you, on our site or anywhere else.
Cookies and browser storage
Our site stores a small amount of information on your device, using cookies and your browser's local storage. Items marked "Essential" are required for the site to work at all; the rest are described so you can decide what to do about them.

The visitor identifier used for analytics lasts up to two years. It is a random value, not your name or email address, and it is stored both as a cookie and in your browser's local storage so that one visit is not counted twice.
You can delete or block any of this in your browser settings, including site data and local storage. Blocking the essential items will prevent sign-in and the cart from working.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Our site does not currently change its behavior in response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control browser signals. Because we do not sell or share your personal information, those signals have no sale or sharing to stop. If you do not want our analytics cookies, you can block or delete them in your browser.
Third parties that receive data when you use the site
These services receive your IP address and the address of the page you are on, because your browser contacts them directly to load part of the page:
- Stripe — payment processing and fraud prevention, on checkout and payment pages
- Mapbox — the service-area map, the partner network map, and address autofill during checkout. Address autofill sends what you type into the address field to Mapbox so it can suggest completions.
- YouTube — embedded product and service videos
- Google — web fonts, and the profile images shown with Google reviews on our site
Each of these is governed by its own privacy policy, which we do not control. We do not send them your name, email address, order contents, or payment details, beyond what Stripe needs in order to take a payment.
How long we keep things

We do not sell your information
We have never sold, rented, or leased customer lists, names, or personal information, and we do not intend to. We do not share personal information for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
We disclose personal information only:
- to service providers who help us operate — payment processing, shipping carriers, email delivery, and hosting — and only what they need in order to do that work;
- when you have asked us to, or agreed to it;
- in aggregate or anonymized form, where you cannot be identified;
- when required by law, subpoena, or court order;
- to protect the rights, property, or safety of our company, our customers, or the public.
Marketing email
We send promotional email only to people who asked for it. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also email us to be removed. Order confirmations, shipping notices, service updates, and similar messages about a transaction you started are not marketing and will still be sent.
Our emails may tell us whether you opened them or clicked a link in them, which we use to judge whether the email we send is worth sending.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you
- Give you a copy of it
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete it — we will, unless we are required to keep it for tax, accounting, warranty, or legal reasons, in which case we will tell you why
- Stop sending you marketing

If someone is making a request on your behalf, we may need to confirm your identity and their authority before we act on it.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. If you believe a child has given us information, please email us.
Security
Traffic to and from this site is encrypted with TLS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Card numbers never reach our systems. Access to customer information is limited to staff who need it for their work. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal information we will notify you as required by law.
Other sites
Our site links to other websites, including social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies before giving them information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top reflects the most recent change. If we ever want to use personal information we already hold in a way materially different from what this policy described when we collected it, we will contact you first.
